GUEST SPEAKERS

Carly Clark

Splitters Farm is a unique destination just outside Bundaberg that’s grown from a humble rescue sanctuary into one of Queensland’s most loved farm stay experiences.

Together with her husband Ashley, Carly transformed a 160-acre dumping ground into a haven for animals - a place where thousands of visitors come each year to reconnect with nature, learn about sustainable farming, and experience life on the land.... And it all began during one of the worst droughts in years.

Carly is deeply passionate about animal welfare, ethical tourism, and creating meaningful, hands-on experiences for families. She’ll be joining our panel to share the highs, the lows, and what it really takes to build a business with purpose from the ground up.

Michael Rechenberg

In 1988, a young Michael Rechenberg joined as an apprentice locksmith. Working side by side with his father, he learned not only the trade but the values that made the business thrive: service, trust, and forward thinking innovation.

In 1993, Michael recognised growing demand for quality electronic security services. The family took another leap and opened a 24 hour security monitoring centre in Bundaberg with only ten monitored lines. Real time alarm response staffed by local security officers became a game changer for the region and set a new benchmark for a growing regional city.

As demand grew, so did the business, in 2001, Rechenberg expanded into Brisbane, extending its reach from the Gold Coast to Cairns while staying grounded in Bundaberg values. In 2003, Bundaberg lost a great local visionary with the passing of Gordon Rechenberg. Marion continued to support the business before her retirement and passed away earlier this year.

In 2014, Michael stepped fully into the role of Managing Director. His focus has been clear: drive innovation, deliver exceptional service, and keep the business deeply rooted in community values.

Today, Rechenberg protects more than 15,000 customers across Australia and the United Kingdom, from homes and schools to government sites and businesses, and proudly continues to operate its locksmith and security business, which includes their A graded 24/7 monitoring centre, from its hometown of Bundaberg.
